At my Middlesex

Rising from bed, smooth waves guide my feet to Middlesex

The car door slams and I’m now a middleschooler

Midway to third period, I’m staring at 8th grade

Lockers – unknowingness falls around me – where am I?

Scales fall as I recognize a stairway to Scialo

Moving to Casasnovas (a fresh room for Spanish)

Libro de texto slams open and I’m now bi-

Lingual; to see all my classmates working diligently

Rocks – Stress and tension is missing – how am I?

Empty pages beckon me to pick up my pen to write

Arriving home, bristling with knowledge, I think back

On how the locker slammed, and how I’m ready for high school

Midway to college now; I look at all my classmates

There is an aura of confidence – What about me?

Three years of my life, learning and having fun, at my Middlesex
